Historically stone spouts and ponds are serving
as prominent water sources for Kathmandu valley since centuries. Due to rapid and haphazard urbanization, sealing the recharge areas and over extraction of groundwater
are major reason being the diminishing water table and drying water sources in the area.
With due time these historically and
archeologically important stone spouts and ponds are being lost and their trace was not found. Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board (KVWSB) has been actively
involved in reconstruction of archeologically important stone spouts and ponds.
According to the master plan for initiation of conservation practice of
traditional source, Paleswa Pukhu (Kamalpokhari) was recently constructed. Main
purpose for these types for conservation and reconstruction area as follow
